What do you see??

The mirror is a microcosm of the of the individual and their mental internal landscape. Subjective aspects of how one sees themselves in the world reside in the mirror. The mirror can also show that personal characteristics in others are are perceived as (being) akin to those within oneself. The acceptance of mirror image as a holistic gestalt can catalyze the liberation from limiting perceptions. The mirror can truly become a reflection and expression of self, either actually or mystically.

The concept of self is affected by the stimuli to which one is exposed. People received inputs from various sources from the time that they are born. These inputs persist throughout their lives. With coming to realization of these influences, one will be molded in accordance to the strength that they exert. Some people seek to express various aspects of who they are ‘perceived’ to be based on the situation. This reflects a dearth of knowledge about what comprises the real person.

Thoughts, either self-deprecating or self promoting, are reflected in the mirror. The thoughts that one entertains about themselves hold a lot of power. Promoting of self is not narcissistic. The degree to which one believes in themselves will open up venues for support from others and the universe. Conversely, negative self thought leads to a diminishing of capabilities and potentials that the individual possesses. Those dynamics are the subtle reflections contained within the mirror.

Other people act as mirrors to our inner selves, based reactions or triggers that they elicit. The manner in which we react to others can reveal much about how a person navigates their own internal landscapes. Many people choose to be reactionary without giving any thought to resultant emotional effects. By railing against the actions of another person, one is browbeating their own being on a subconscious level. This is a challenging concept because one fails to comprehend the rebound effects of ill-expression emotion, opinion and perceptions.

Acquiring knowledge of self is crucial to bringing the disparate aspects of the individual into balance. The individual will conveniently morph into the an convenient persona when self knowledge is lacking. The individual must do the necessary work to discover their actual being. Taking up the challenge can be difficult but it is not impossible. Development of the actual person is a progressive journey. Using self actualizing affirmations while looking into a mirror can be an integral part of bring True Self to light.

We must come to the realization of the totality of our spiritual and material essence. The human is a union of the opaque and the ephemeral. One is not what they think that they perceive while, simultaneously, being more than what they do not perceive. This gives rise to misconceptions. One can utilize the mirror to assist in bringing the seen and unseen aspects of the individual into union. Affirmations, when repeated in the mirror, can be beneficial for improving(?) thought patterns, getting motivated, strengthening mental outlook, focusing on goals, and taking positive stock of your abilities.

The self image that one ascribes to is that image which is revealed wherever one goes. People react and respond to a person based on the image that the person projects. The whole world, as such, is a mirror. The mirror is a device that provides external / conscious and internal / subconscious visuals. It is up to the individual to take stock of and act upon what they see. People are material and mystical. The mirror can be used as a tool to harmonize these disparate aspects into a powerful, functional force.
