A U M
The importance of the AUM (OM) chant must not be relegated to some mystical, impossibly distant plateau of spiritual attainment. AUM is present everyday as part of the conscious, consciousness experience. The ease of dealing with ‘reality’ is facilitated by dividing everyday existence into arbitrary, partial aspects. These separate aspects can be examined and can be experienced as parts of ‘the totality’. AUM (OM) is the coalescence of these aspects into a synchronous energetic locus point. f AUM (OM) is a formula to assist in crystalizing potential into actuality.

AUM is typically presented as a vehicle to lift one into higher spiritual dimensions. The situation with this concept is that it places the practicality of AUM (OM) beyond the purview of most people. Attuning to the personal inner strengths is challenging. Most people are only concerned with ‘reality’ as (it is) perceived by the senses. Yet, the reality of AUM (OM) is within the reach of every person. The practicality of AUM (OM) is not easily hidden in the way it is presented. There is a certain powerful reverberation that one can feel when vocalizing this sound with intention.
AUM facilitates every day existence while allowing one to be conscious of sense perceptions. There are substances, objects, and events that can, from moment to moment, be very distracting. The brain is stimulated by sensory input. Thus, the mind aspect of the brain thrives within the milieu of thought flow. Through training, one can reign in the mind, so to speak. Training the mind can develop the ability for one to be more conscious of their actions, their thoughts. Training the mind can help with mitigation of thought flow and expansion of conscious awareness. AUM is a vocalization vehicle that can bring thought flow to a trickle in this pursuit.

People look at reality through the lens of a three part totality. This scenario is that through which society, in general, travels during their lives. Cognizing reality in this manner is a mode in with the mind remains occupied. Specifically, people spend little time in the present. They tend to be pre-occupied with the past and with the future. There are pains and pleasures of the past that haunt people. There are delights and aversions that people project into their futures. The present moment, for many, is something to be put aside. It is through being cognizant of thought flow that these divisions are harmonized. The present becomes
Dividing reality into three parts allows for ease of categorization. There abides, within the various threefold reality concepts, an overarching synchronous flow. For example: The Triple Goddess Archetype, that being maiden, mother, crone. There is also Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. Although they present as separate, the thread of continuity cannot be separated out of the totality. Similarly, the statement ‘One plus One equals Two’. This statement can exist through the continuity that is therein encapsulated. The separate elements can be altered Yet, the rules that define the flow must result in the statement expressing a similar truism.

AUM (OM), as a statement, is a formula. It defines a synchronous continuity that harmonizes reality. AUM (OM) is not something to flippantly utilize. It symbolizes the Universe and the ultimate reality. At the dawn of creation, from ‘the Emptiness’, the dawn of creation gave rise to the three letter syllable A, U, M (OM). AUM (OM) unites the separate aspects of the triplicity into audible locus point that is (vocally) tangible and (functionally) accessible. It gives context to the human experience. It provides an overview of where most people reside. It defines the states of existence to which many remain unaware or give little credence.
AUM (OM) is a starting ground for take-off in the pursuance of higher spiritual aspirations. It contains within the vocalization a blueprint for setting the course for attaining deeper insight and profound realization. It can be used to settle the constant mental chatter that pervades daily life. Calming the mental chatter allows for the unfoldment of spaciousness and clarity.
